The online competition “My e-Participation Story” aimed to collect personal stories of citizens who have used EU or national e-Participation tools to influence policy-making and make a difference in their lives and the lives of others. We wanted to hear personal stories from ordinary people. We asked them to tell their experience (positive or negative) of using e-Participation tools.
Any EU citizen and citizens from wider Europe older than 16 (recommended minimum age) could participate in the competition. Applicants needed to submit story either in written format (short essay style, up to 500 words) or a video of up to 3 minutes (could be anything from an interview-style recording of telling your experience to filming the e-Participation activity).
All entries were evaluated against the selection criteria and 11 winners – one from each participating country and one at European level – were selected and invited to share their experience with policy-makers in Brussels in December 2015.
As a collection of award winning stories a “Compendium of citizens’ stories about making a difference through ICT” was created and published on the project’s website.
